Sazerac - A nod to Tradition

Our journey through Mardi Gras libations begins with the iconic Sazerac, a cocktail deeply rooted in New Orleans history. Crafted with precision, this concoction boasts the richness of Cantilever rye whiskey, enhanced by the aromatic dance of absinthe and the subtle sweetness of a sugar cube. Garnished with a twist of lemon peel, the Sazerac pays homage to the city's vibrant past.

Absinthe, to rinse

1 sugar cube

½ teaspoon cold water

4 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters

2 ½ oz. Cantilever rye whiskey

Lemon peel to garnish

1.       Rinse a chilled rocks glass with absinthe, discarding any excess, and set aside.

2.       In a mixing glass, muddle sugar cube, water, and bitters.

3.       Add the rye whiskey, fill the mixing glass with ice and stir.

4.       Strain into your prepared glass.

5.       Twist the lemon peel over the surface to release its oils, then garnish with the peel.

French 75: Effervescent Elegance

Transitioning from tradition to effervescence, the French 75 takes center stage. The Botanist gin, fresh lemon juice, and a hint of simple syrup create a symphony of flavors, all topped with the sparkling sophistication of Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut. Served in a flute glass and adorned with a lemon twist, the French 75 embodies the spirit of celebration.

1 ½ oz. The Botanist gin

¾ oz. fresh lemon juice

¾ oz. simple syrup

3 to 4 oz champagne – Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut

1 Lemon peel for garnish

1.       Add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaker filled with ice.

2.       Shake until chilled and strain into a flute glass.

3.       Top with champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.

Hurricane: A Storm of Flavor

In the spirit of the tropics, the Hurricane sweeps in with a fusion of Cruzan Aged light and dark rums, passion fruit puree, and a touch of grenadine. Topped with a float of Cruzan Hurricane Proof rum and garnished with fresh fruit, this cocktail is a whirlwind of bold flavors that transport you to the heart of a Mardi Gras celebration.

2 oz. Cruzan Aged light rum

2 oz. Cruzan Aged dark rum

1 oz. passion fruit puree

1 oz. grenadine

Cruzan Hurricane Proof rum

Fresh fruit for garnish

1.       Add light rum and dark rums, passion fruit puree, and grenadine into a shaker with ice.

2.       Shake until chilled and strain into a hurricane glass over fresh ice.

3.       Float Cruzan Hurricane Proof rum on top.

4.       Garnish with fresh fruit.

*Float - hold the bowl end of a bar spoon in contact with the side of the glass and over the surface of the drink and pour slowly over it.

Southern Bourbon Milk Punch: A Creamy Delight

Southern Bourbon Milk Punch

1 ½ oz. The Wiseman Kentucky Straight bourbon whiskey

2 oz. whole milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

½ oz. honey

1/3 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Freshly grated nutmeg, cardamom, and cinnamon for rim

1.       Rim cocktail glass with spice mixture.

2.       Add bourbon, milk, vanilla extract, and honey into shaker with ice.

3.       Shake until chilled and strain into a cocktail glass over crushed ice.
